Mmm... FOOD!! :)
I am a blog slacker!
However, I know for a fact that at least ONE person is excitedly waiting for this post, so Jen, this one is dedicated to you ;)
Couple pics from top to bottom:
1. Some sort of vegetable-filled crepes with cream sauce.
2. Mini veggie pizza. With copious amounts of sauce. Cheese is for fat people :D
That, and I just really, really love sauce. In fact, I've been known to sometimes order pizza sans cheese in order to really savor the sauce. Some of you out there must be with me...
3. Vegan Chai Latte Cupcakes. I don't care what anyone says, these were simply FABULOUS. And considering that I could pull them off...
I am definitely a cook by trade. Can't bake for shit. But these were an exception.
You can find the recipe here: http://theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=386
Btw, while I'm on the subject, can I just say that Isa is my culinary hero?! I've made a ton of stuff from her Vegan with a Vengeance book, and I've loved all of it. :)
(..and for those of you out of the know, I am not even a vegan!)
4. Stuffed Mushrooms. Don't tell anyone but these were easy AND cheap AND delicious. I felt like some sort of loaded foodie eating them, but turns out *whisper* I'm a college student. Shhh...
Since I just made these tonight, I happen to have the recipe handy:
..and for once I didn't change anything. Except for the fact that I don't measure things and I only made half the recipe. But measuring is for meticulous people...
5. Vegetarian Lumpia. I wish I remembered how I made these! Delish!
I'm pretty sure I will make them again, but, of course, they will probably taste WAY different. Turns out lumpia is not traditionally vegetarian, so I must make up recipes of my own....
Well, now that I'm hungry, I think I'm gonna go raid the fridge for mushroom leftovers, but until next time, BON APPETIT! :D

Salad... more shrimp.. and, hey, turns out I'm overweight, who woulda thought? ....
Orange Shrimp:
Yes. I'm on a shrimp-fest. What can I say? It's partially because I've been over-stressed & lazy, partially because boys don't seem to like to eat "vegetarian" food :)
(However, I've got a theory that if I didn't bring up the fact that it was PETA-friendly OR healthy.. and something was grilled.. it might be okay!...)
This wasn't the best thing I've ever made or eaten in my life... but it was still pretty good. Especially for how easy it was.
Laura, here is my jack-recipe:
-1/4 c cornstarch
-1/2 c water
-2 tbsp seasame seeds
-1/2 c olive oil
-1/4 c peanut oil
-2 oranges
-2 tbsp soy sauce
-1 tbsp crushed pepper
-shallot, thinly sliced
I put about 1/4 c cornstarch, 1/2 c water, and 2 tbsp seasame seeds in a bowl and mixed well. I then took the shrimp and tossed it in the "mixture". I cooked it for about 3 mins (in a wok with about 1/2 c olive oil & 1/4 c peanut oil), then transferred the shrimp to a bowl. In another bowl, I juiced an orange and a half, then added about 2 tbsp soy sauce & a tbsp of crushed chili pepper. I brought the mixture to a boil in the pan & then added the shrimp & shallot in. I then squeezed the rest of the orange over the shrimp & served with Jasmine rice. Bon Appetit!
However, sadly, the bmi chart on the internet says I'm fat. I've thought about it a lot and I do want to cook a little healthier... at least every once in a while. :)
I got a whole foods salad on my way home from work the other day and just thought I'd share. It was... relatively healthy... and also, delicious!
But, anyway...
if any of you out there have any healthy ideas... let me know!

Mmm.. sushi!
Sushi. It's like God's gift to earth or something.
Yesterday was girls night/aka "Happy Hour" at Ichiban. I'm not sure that this roll was the best that I'd ever had, but it was still pretty good. Shrimp, avo and salmon, though. Yum!
My other roll had Sriricha hot sauce on it, which made me really, really extremely happy.
The best part is that it was only 12 bucks pre-tip for two rolls. Thank you Ichiban for a great Tuesday night! I will definatley call upon you again.
Tonight it's off work at four, and then school from 530-8 or so (usually about 815). So I will have to decide what it'll be: Whole Foods, Jimmy Johns, or starvation. Possibly Betos. But no. I have already used enough sick time recently ;)

This is America, eat like an American!
.
Due to popular demand (thanks, voices in my head!), I have finally broken down, and made a food blog. As the Spanish say, "The belly rules the mind." (Except that they say it in Spanish, obviously, and it probably sounds a hell of a lot cooler in their native language, but the point is still clear...)After obsessively looking up recipes, thinking about food, copying food, inventing food, liking food, disliking food, and putting Sriricha Hot Sauce on absolutely everything.... only one thing is clear: I live for food.
It seems to me that some people eat to live, while others live to eat. It's obvious which party I belong to, and if you are the latter, please enjoy my adventure along with me!...
Tonight's dinner turned out really good. Mushroom-Ginger-Yam-Noodle Spicy Soup (with egg). Looks like prison gruel, almost, but tastes like a little bit of heaven on earth. Warm, spicy, and healthy enough that you can almost not feel bad for eating those damned simple-carb noodles. Yum!
Then, the image on the right is my Father's Day meal. Szewan (however the heck you spell it!!) shrimp & coconut-pineapple jasmine rice. I'm pretty sure that in most Asian countries the rice is a decadent dessert, but this is America, so we ate it as a side and then had cheesecake later.
